The AVK Group has outlined very strict objectives for our production companies as far as electricity and water consumption are concerned. Consequently, all AVK companies put high efforts into reducing consumption wherever they can.
Every AVK employee is motivated and committed to identify areas of improvement in the way we do business to the benefit of the environment. We do not only focus on activities and processes in our manufacturing companies, but also on the behaviour and business models of our suppliers.
Responsible Business Partners
AVK promises quality in every step of the partnership process. This also includes a transparent and sustainable chain of supplies - not only covering our own work but also the work performed by our network of suppliers to the AVK Group.
The AVK Group has agreed to adhere to standards that our suppliers will need to comply with as well in order to be a certified supplier of the Group. In a world of intensified globalisation, with resultant increasing business relations between countries and cultures, it is vital for the AVK Group to achieve sustainability throughout the supply chain. We wish to show and assure our customers that we work with responsible partners who adhere to the same standards as we do.
Therefore, we only cooperate with partners with high ethical standards. Partners who also feel a strong commitment to comply with international legislation in the field of labour. At AVK, we especially respect all child labour restrictions throughout the entire supply chain, and we do not accept any discrimination in respect of employment and occupation.
Global compact principles
A global presence demands high ethical standards. Throughout our organisation and in all our actions, we therefore recognise the principles laid down in the United Nations Global Compact document, which is a set of core values in the following areas:
Human Rights
Principle 1: Businesses should support and respect the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights; and
Principle 2: make sure that they are not complicit in human rights abuses.
Labour Standards
Principle 3: Businesses should uphold the freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining;
Principle 4: the elimination of all forms of forced and compulsory labour;
Principle 5: the effective abolition of child labour; and
Principle 6: the elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation.
Environment
Principle 7: Businesses should support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges;
Principle 8: undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility; and
Principle 9: encourage the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies

Principle 10: Businesses should work against all forms of corruption, including extortion and bribery.
